Amazing cinnamon roll! It was the best I've ever had...buttery, gooey deliciousness That statement was a result of our first visit. We came again for breakfast this morning...my husband couldn't get away from the cinnamon roll, and I had to try the lox bagel. Wow - an everything bagel, red onion, capers, tomato, cream cheese, and lox. We will definitely be back! This place is amazing!

Cinnamon roll is a must have and big enough for 4 people. Yum yum... The French toast burlee is a must have.. WOW!!! so good and I'm sure it was healthy; lol. I'd also recommend the 3 egg platter..

Pluses: whimsical, colorful, inviting space with seating for large groups. Veggie omelette was good as were my scrambled eggs and toast. Many fresh baked goods like Danishes, scones, and muffins. Of course the giant cinnamon bun was a hit. Chill and relaxed atmosphere. Minuses: Cappuccino was made way too quickly. Water ran through in 10 seconds...therefore thin, tasteless. Cashier steamed about 1/4 gallon of milk at a time. Training needed. The proprietor asked how everything was; I said great except for the capp and she offered to correct it with a new one. That was nice. Unconventional tables and seating looked fun but many low tables were impractical unless you are a small child. No receipt given! - one star NB: water is available in a red dispenser to the right of the register on the right. A conspicuous silver "manly" mannequin with sequined rainbow chest vest and bejeweled banana sling might be a great family photo op. Or not.

Stumbled on this little gem while taking some friends to see AMI. One of my friends described it as a "beachside Cracker Barrel." We had the Mediterranean scramble, the Sunrise scramble, the Creme Brûlée French toast (which was recommended to us by another patron) and a GIANT cinnamon roll. Oh and all-you-can-drink coffee. We loved this place. And now I can't wait to go back to AMI--soon!

I think it's the perfect place to stop by with your newspaper or with your friends. You sit in the middle of a fun store. I had a delicious mango and banana smoothie. My sister loved her freshly baked blueberry muffin.

  • Cristina T.

Seriously loved this place. Very eccentric! The whole joint is loaded with different chochskis and art from local artists you can buy! Our food took forever to come out but I didn't even notice because I was looking at all the cool things. I had the lox and bagel and it was so delicious. Real Nova Lox, so fresh and delicious. Freshly brewed coffee. Will for sure be coming back

Fun place with eclectic atmosphere. Cinnamon rolls as big as your head. Good coffee. Creme brûlée French toast is a must try.

I didn't even know that this place was in walking distance from our beach house, so we've been going way out of our way for a great breakfast. We came here to end our girls weekend, which was a wonderful ending. So I got a coffee and a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on wheat. This comes with has browns and is one of the better "deals" IMO here. My sandwich was good and so were the hashbrowns and the Coffee was AMAZING! It was Jamaican me crazy and it was so good! One of my friends got a scramble bowl which also looked good and was a good value. My other friend got a creme brulee french toast, which she said was great but was kind of expensive when you add bacon and a drink. Overall our experience was good and we will be back!

Must visit if you're one Anna Maria! The breakfast is soooo good. Not you're average scrambled eggs. Flavorful, perfect portions for breakfast. The pecan bun is to die for. I couldn't finish mine so I took it home. A day later I warmed it up and it tasted just as good as the first day! Some downfalls: it gets really hot in there, if you go n a weekend there is usually a long wait to order and to get your food. I've seen lines out the door and it's totally worth the wait!

Awesome spot on the island! My wife and I love coming here when we visit. Staff is super friendly and the food is great!

This place was awesome! We came in for breakfast and I ordered the Belgium waffle with strawberries, side of eggs and sausage. It was extremely fresh and flavorful. Definitely coming back here!

Quaint shop with a bakery/breakfast place at the back decorated with antique charm and a shop at the front with antiques and knick knacks. The food was excellent as was the coffee and the staff was very pleasant as well. Definitely a good place for breakfast in Anna Maria.

This place is home to some ECLECTIC SHIZ. Youll be wondering, is this an antique shop? Why do I smell bacon? Is that a bedazzled guitar for sale? Why do I smell cinnamon rolls? All of the above is reality at G&J's. The seating and tableware is beyond unique. The self service coffee is exactly what you need after drinking the entire previous day. Everything, everything, everything from the bagels to the omelets to the INSANELY GOOEY cinnamon rolls is Davis approved and guaranteed to make your blood sugar spike. I make sure to enjoy this place daily when I stay at my place on AMI. You should try to do the same. Just be sure not to sit under the hanging blue shark cause thats my table.

This bakery is in the cutest little shop filled with interesting trinkets. Everyone is my party loved their food. I personally had the creme brûlée that was so good. Someone else loves the milkshake they had and another was raving about the waffles. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.

$5 cinnamon buns..worth every penny. This is a cool place to grab a nice omelet and sweet treat. You can shop for antiques and curiosities while you wait!

  • Harry K.

Cute spot. Kitschy decor. Great priced food, expensive tourist chotskies to buy. Packed @ lunch. Good coffee and pastry bar. Breakfast til noon. Check out the classic '80's rock photos of Jerry, Bruce, Eric, Madonna, Michael, The Clash. Worth the wait. Slices of and whole pies.

  • Mackenzie B.

Want eclectic gifts, trinkets, apparel and everything in between? Want a green smoothie that makes you feel better about consuming a cinnamon roll the size of your head? G & J's is the place for you. It's seriously rocking and deserves a visit during your stay in Anna Maria. Go for the antiques, but I guarantee that you will order a coffee at the very least.

Must try the coffee, cinnamon rolls (warmed) and sticky bun! Very cute little funky island shop

The four of us had four different types of omelets and everyone enjoyed it. Each had three eggs and side of fruit. Very filling. The eggs were perfected cooked. The ambiance was cool and casual. A fun place for families. You can shop for souvenirs. There is also an ice cream bar.

  • Devin A.

Love love love this place. Ate breakfast twice here. Food was consistent a little factory but still good. They had gluten free options which were great! Pastries were delicious would recommend the cinnamon roll. Definitely recommend this place.

I had lunch with a girlfriend visiting for Thanksgiving week. Even though it was the holiday and the place was bustling, we were served promptly and received fresh delicious food. We both got the Chicken Salad sandwiches, which were huge and delicious. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite. It's a small, quirky place - bakery, gift shop, ice cream & restaurant - and a real Anna Maria Island treasure!

I've been coming here for 7 years; each year I rated G& J's 5 stars. Tasty breakfast treats, great coffee, eclectic atmosphere, and a marvelous selection of local art and crafts. Food still rates a 5 but sadly with the island getting more popular this cute eclectic gem has sadly cut the presence of local art to put in more tables and chairs for the crowds that have "discovered" them. Experienced a 25 minute wait to order and another 20 minutes to get order. I hope their food sales compensate for their reduced merchandise sales. Sadly their popularity may reach the saturation level with those of us wanting a fun atmosphere and good food to turn elsewhere as G&J's is now too crowded to enjoy.

Great location! Walking distance to the beach. Very fun and beachy atmosphere since it is in an antique shop selling fun beach décor etc. Every table is unique to sit at right in the store! It also has free Wifi. I had the tuna salad plate. It was good, although the lettuce could have been fresher. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be on Anna Maria island.

  • Amy B.

Go hungry! We went hungry and still couldn't finish our breakfast, though it may have been because of the massive, incredibly delicious cinnamon roll that we ate before our meal was ready. Or perhaps it was the yummy morning glory muffin top! The smoothies are made from frozen fruit and pineapple juice and there are many great combinations to choose from. A fun setting to enjoy a great breakfast!

This review is strictly on the Creme Brûlée French Toast as well as the ambience. Get the French Toast. It kicks ass it's so good. The ambience of the restaurant/quirky shop is pretty unique and cool as well.

Kids couldn't make it to the island this time and all they wanted us to bring back to Connecticut is Ginny's & Jane E's cinnamon rolls,

Excellent sticky bums and egg sandwiches but more importantly a fantastically fun atmosphere! My new go to place for breakfast!

  • Ryan F.

This is a great place to have a good cup of coffee and relax with a huge cinnamon bun!!! Great variety of food and treats that your order at the counter. Order, grab a seat, and wait for your buzzer to go off to pick up your food. Don't think of this as a restaurant but more of sitting in your childhood kitchen. Food is awesome but awesome comes with time. I highly recommend the creme brûlée French toast and cinnamon bun!!! This place has a great family vibe with large tables where you can sit with visiting families and residents and say hello!! This place will now be in my breakfast rotation!!!!

  • Ryan W.

Food was pretty good. It has a nice artsy atmosphere. We had the creme brule french toast and egg spinach and tomato wrap which was served with hasbrowns.

Great place to sneak in for a muffin and a coffee. Get it to go so you can walk around and look at the shop. Fun morning to waste some time before heading to the beach.

Great smoothies but the real draw is the freshly baked breakfast pastry - mmmmm!

  • Brittany R.

Just returned from a trip to Anna Maria Island and was glad to have this place close by. We stayed about a block from here and stopped every day for something. Breakfast sandwiches were great, had a great Turkey sandwich for lunch one day, great smoothies and their Key Lime Pie was excellent (much better than Sign of The Mermaid). Cute local place with great food...became a daily ritual to stop here.

  • Jessica M.

This is a unique, absolutely MUST STOP IN place when you're out on Anna Maria island. What a fun and quirky spot. Coffee and treats, free internet with a couple of computers to use, even a printer so you can get boarding passes or whatever other must-haves for you or your visiting friends.

  • Angela E.

What a cool, eclectic place to eat. This restaurant is sort of a quick service type place where you go to the counter, order your food, and then get it from the counter when they call your name. But the food is anything but quick service quality. I had the french toast and, oh my, it was fantastic! I also had a smoothie and you definitely don't want to miss out on those. They have all sorts of mismatched tables, chairs, and couches where you can sit down and eat your food. It was such a wonderful place that we went back for breakfast again a couple of days later.

    (4)
  • Adam M.

This place is cool and quirky. I have had the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit and also the sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. The biscuits are a little bland for my tastes, but the bagel was very fresh and light. Other folks in my party got the peanut butter waffle and the creme brulee french toast. The creme brulee french toast was a huge hit. They also serve paninis and sandwiches. Overall, this is a good breakfast and lunch place to keep in your back pocket when vacationing on AMI.

  • Kari W.

So, lunch was fine, twice. Nothing earth shattering but good. Very kitschy, fun location. Breakfast was pretty good, creme brûlée French toast was awesome if you like a really sweet breakfast. The thing that drops it from 4 to 3 stars is that all three times it was SO slow. Even when not very busy. Took 22 minutes to make 3 sandwiches to go on one visit.

    (3)
  • Michael B.

Great food and funky atmosphere. Lots of fun for everyone. I would highly recommend getting the omelet. Its huge!

Great lunches with healthy choices and enough variety to please everyone in your party!! Great baked goods , smoothies, and breakfast items. My daughter found some cute gifts to give her friends!!

  • Tom M.

We had an opportunity to eat here a couple of times this past week when we were on vacation. To say it was good is an understatement. I had one of the breakfast omelets and my wife had a breakfast sandwich and the cinnamon roll. Both were excellent and filling. So we went again an I had the sausage and egg sandwich which again was very good and the decadent cinnamon roll shared with my wife. The setting was very eclectic with various types of tables and chairs. There were antiques and local art for sale also. Staff and owners were very friendly. Strongly recommend for anyone to go there. Pricing was very reasonable to boot

  • Lauren W.

REALLY cute place! A little shop to walk around in with all sorts of antiques, clothes, knick-knacks, etc., which makes for a great ambiance, plus the food is amazing. We had the HUGE sweet roll and the nova lox bagel, and both were fantastic. The flavored iced coffee was great too, can't wait to go back to try more on the menu!

    (5)
  • C. N.

Don't go here if you are claustrophobic. It's a bakery and coffee shop in the back of the store, with merchandise in the front half. Little room to move around. Seating outdoors on the sidewalk or inside but you might end up sitting with strangers. Good selection of bagels, pastries and coffee drinks. Near a trolley stop.

    (4)
  • Iris T.

My first time in Anna Maria Island and I'm glad I stopped at this place. The service was friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere was funky. My husband and I went there for breakfast. I had the waffle and my husband eggs and bacon. Everything was fresh! We also hung around after to look at all the funky stuff they had for sale. Very cool and definitely different than any restaurant I've been to. We going back for sure!

Delicious, had Ginny's Omelet and a Cafe Americano, everything was perfect! Here for a few days and I'm coming back for certain! Only suggestion would be for a variety of hot sauces.

  • Kellyo O.

It was ok. We went in the afternoon after we finished paddleboarding and got sandwiches and smoothies. I honestly expected to be impressed by fabulous finds as led to believe by other reviewers. Maybe I just spend more time at beaches or something but I just thought it was an over priced flea market type shop with ok food. Maybe I need to try breakfast and coffee there? I am always surprised when I am not as fascinated as other reviewers. Wish I was! But go check it out yourself, you may love it ;)

Stopped in Ginny & Jane E's Bakery for breakfast before heading back home. We ate outside as we had our pups with us. I liked that this cafe has a wide variety of breakfast items and homemade bakery items. However, on the down side, the food took forever to come out. Probably wouldn't go back but a good breakfast place.

The Anna Maria omelette was a winner for me. Large latte was great as well. Next day tried an iced latte and was a little disappointing

Cute little store w/tons to look at but the staff was very unfriendly. Ordered some stuff from their bakery for the two teenagers w/me and they ate while I looked around to shop. I guess the staff didn't know I was there w/the girls and started getting a little ugly w/the girls saying they needed to hurry up and eat and leave and it wasn't someplace for them to just "sit around" all day. When I approached her and asked what the problem was, she apologized and said she didn't know I was w/them although I'm not sure why that mattered. Needless to say, we won't be back. And the food? Overpriced for stale oatmeal cookies and three bottled waters.

  • Lola S.

Tourist trap. Restroom icky. Mediocre overpriced deli/cafe style food. Hot inside. Baked goods limited. I ordered the vegetable frittata. The guy at the counter looked at me and said "oh, we don't make that anymore. We haven't for awhile". Apparently it was too much work to wipe it off the menu chalkboard so nobody orders it again. In addition to cafe style food, this place sells kitschy tourist junk and random vintage store type items. My husband and I ate next to a silver painted male mannequin with a bedazzled private area and chest. The Anna Maria market in the purple bldg around the corner has a better selection including fresh squeezed Mixon orange juice in 1/2 gallon sizes. Much preferred

  • Kerry L.

Great, eclectic restaurant, bakery and shop. There's so much to look at at this shop and many unique items for the home. We had breakfast here twice and the food was excellent whether it was eggs, waffles or the creme brûlée french toast. We'd definitely go back when in Anna Maria.

    (5)
  • Paula W.

Went here for breakfast. Great atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they buzz you when your food is ready. The egg and biscuit sandwich was awesome with a healthy amount of cheddar cheese on a fluffy well made biscuit. It also was not great. The waffle was excellent and one of the best ones I've had in my while. I don't think they offer pancakes which mean they probably make a batter specifically for waffles which produces a better waffle. Most places use the same batter for waffles and pancakes which means mediocre waffles. We tried this place, the crepe place, and the Cortez cafe and this was our favorite breakfast.

  • Renu K.

Terrible service. After reading rave reviews, we went here for breakfast with kids. When we asked at the counter after 20 minutes of wait, we were told it's coming. Another 10 minutes, we asked again and were told that they forgot to even place the order. They offered no apologies and nothing immediately for kids who were hungry for 30 minutes. Staff needs training in how to handle their mistakes.

Love this place! Decent coffee and coffee shop food offerings nestled in a jungle of kooky gifts, antiques, art, home decor, and other fun stuff. This is a unique spot and a welcome break from the monotony of beach shops in the area.

  • Michael B.

Service and food were great. Awesome place to explore while waiting for food, tables and decor amazing. Biscuits were good, creme brûlée French toast was small, but equally amazing. The key lime pie which is hand made is a must, even for breakfast. Worth a visit if from the area or worth a stop if visiting. Remember, congratulations, you woke up today.

  • Lady J.

Disappointing breakfast. Desite telling them we would be outside and giving our name, someone came out after a while shouting our name and saying our order had been waiting for us for "15 mins". We pointed out that we had said he would be outside and he said he would try and 'warm it up'. Muttering "I don't think so" my hubbie followed him in and got them to redo his breakfast sandwich. My eggs and bacon ok - toast flabby and disappointing as usual - his breakfast sandwich unremarkable. Service not so good. Food unremarkable. Interior interesting flea market and boutique finds but expensive. Wouldn't bother again.

Went to have breakfast on a Sunday morning. I enjoy all the curios stuff, I found interesting the collage of tables and chair where you sit and eat. It's a very local interesting place to stop not only for coffee and breakfast, but to look around too. Beside the interesting looking decorations, the coffee was great but what blew my mind was the Creme Brûlée Frensh Toast, it was delicious and very sweet, very filing too Defenetly a most have.

This is a MUST when visiting Anna Maria! Super cute cafe which also has a mini store inside with very adorable jewelry and other items. Food is incredibly good and a very good price. My favorite drink is the Chai Chiller.. wow thats amazing! Got to try their biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll, sticky bun, and turkey sandwich while I was in town. Went almost everyday hehe...! It does tend to get a bit busy on morning weekends, but its well worth the wait. Please do youself a favor and check out this cute cafe! :)

It's all about expectations nice people a breakfast place...portions were good..the staff were great... just a suggestionthey could elevate things with more special touches ...for example more local farm goods to go with the homemade style baked good...they have wonder bagels, great pastries and scones but for the extra touch (I want to support small farmers) local eggs...local meats...bacon ham sausage...would recommend to another friend and went back serveral times......did I mention they displayed local art? and lots of kitchy beach stuff... very fun... free good internet connections...

Ate an early dinner here today with my other half. Fun, busy decor/store with cafe in back. Had the spinach quiche with side salad, and a nutty professor iced coffee, coconut/hazelnut. Quiche was eggie delicious w nice flavor and buttery flaky crust, salad super fresh wonderful tomatoes tasted like they just picked out of their garden. Carnivore boy had classic Reuben on marble rye, thick hefty sandwich! Classic done perfect. Prices are extremely decent we plan on going back to try their Creme brûlée French toast tomorrow morning! Staff was mucho sunny, bright and delightful! Also kind of cool local art scattered throughout the store: paintings to recycled glass candle holders..mermaid and beach decor galore.

We've been coming there for a few years now. The baked goods are fine and so are their breakfast items. Notice I said fine and not good or great. The scone was good, but the huge cinnimon bun was just okay. Even when it was heated up. I do believe the breakfast items are a little over priced. I believe i paid almost $6 for a biscuit with bacon, egg, and cheese. Nothing else came with it. I agree with some others, it seems that it takes longer than it should to get a breakfast sandwich. I think we waited 15-20 minutes or more for some breakfast sandwiches and there was only 2 people ahead of us. I like the quirky atmosphere and they are always friendly. It's a great place to browse while you are waiting for your food. Hmmm, maybe that's part of the master plan.......

tried the cream brulé French toast and all I can say is OH MY GOD! the best. everything is from scratch and you can taste it. well worth venturing on this side of the isle to have some great food.

Looking for a good coffee? Go here. But I challenge you to not get distracted by all the tchotcke and knick knacks in this place. Talk about sensory overload. It's so tacky and quirky but it's fun. Great place to hang out and cruise the web or mingle with the locals outside.

  • Vic O.

This place is for tourists and people who think bagels are ONLY for breakfast. That's what I was told (about the bagels) when I tried to order one at 11:30 AM, "We're out of bagels. It's almost lunch time" as if I should have known better than ask. A bit snippy, and it was my first time there. :( I'd been told they bake their own bagels, breads, cakes, rolls, muffins, etc. We'd been wanting to stop by and pick up a quantity of bagels, but we don't know if that's even possible since they were out of bagels by the time we got there. The place is basically a gift shop/gallery converted from an old supermarket, filled with artsy, overpriced tschotchkies (knick-knacks). There's a food service deli-style counter at the rear and a bunch of mis-matched tables and chairs that serve as a cafe. The food is only OK but overpriced - for the touristy area it's in. The regular coffee is good. The house multigrain sandwich bread is WAY TOO SWEET and "horrible" according to my fiance, like cake, not appreciated. I heard the rye bread was good. They have some boutique bottled sodas and a small variety of commercially bagged chips and dips in jars. We didn't try any baked goods other than the sandwich breads that came with our LUNCHES (there's no breakfast at 11:30 AM! So don't even THINK about having brunch there!). I had a small Greek salad - lots of Calamata olives, a scant handful of feta, served with a single Tablespoon of a tasty olive oil-based salad dressing that was refrigerated, which stayed quite COLD and SOLID when I spooned it out onto my plate. It stayed pretty solid, too. But it was good. We could've done without the snippy attitude about when it's OK to order a bagel (hey, it is on their menu beside other dishes available for lunch). I know it's tiring to do that kind of work, but, "I'm sorry" would have sufficed, or post a warning sign. One would think they'd get the message if people asked often enough and they'd have some dang bagels available for the lunch crowd. We're not ignorant, we eat bagels any time of the day in the rest of the world. I'm originally from NYC, lived in Chicago many years, and people eat bagels there morning, noon and night, so don't tell me when it's the right time to eat a bagel. The service was VERY SLOW to make 3 sandwiches and there were 3 active counter persons we could see plus 2 women flitting about (THE Ginny and Jane E, perhaps?) Precious little parking in the off-season. Keep your expectations low if you go there.

love this place. ..so cool, grab a cool cup of coffee, some lunch or breakfast and if you're like me bring your laptop. The owners are so nice the internet is on the honor system where you just drop a 2 dollars in a bucket. The owners are so nice and I found some great Xmas presents there to take back to Ohio. I love this place, have been here actually 5 times and I just feel comfy and at home when I walk in

Ok, so I go to Anna Maria Island for Christmas... First, Anna Maria Island is lovely. Very quiet, lots of tourismy, kitschy beach shops and old people. Perfect for relaxing, however...not a WHOLE LOT to do but swim, eat and lay in the sun. Which is all fine and good for me, except I had to send an urgent file to someone the day after Christmas, and I could not find an internet connection basically...on the whole island. So we are driving around, aimlessly wandering around this island, back/forth, circles, trying to google stuff on our phones...and I look up, and it's the promised land. An Internet cafe straight out of a romantic comedy. Walking in, there is a little antique, crafty, artsy, islandly shop...with lots of momentos, wooden furniture painted hip colors and happy looking tan people wandering about in sandals. sigh....love. The back is a quaint little internet cafe with many hodge podgey, chic tables and comfy chairs. There is a station with 2 computers, and wifi for laptops. WIFI!? Thank you dear Anna Maria...thank you. I almost had a nervous breakdown the day after Christmas and you've saved me. I liked it so much we sent the file, got coffee and hung out for awhile, mixing with some locals, some tourists and sampling killer smoothies. Hey, you know you are in remote island Florida when there is an "honor system" box for coffees. True..you can actually just throw your $1.25 into the basket, take a cup and be on your way. And no one steals the money! Or the coffee! Crazy! I want to move here so this can be "my place." But probably not. But maybe when I'm 70.

Cute atmosphere, but the food wasn't so hot. The pastry that I purchased was stale, and the omelet was yucky, too. And why give tomato as the side with an omelet that already contains them. Weird. We'll be sticking to the Pier for breakfast!

    Best cappuccinos anywhere.

3.5 stars- considering the terrible service and food quality on the island vs the place we stayed and this place- they did pretty good. Bagel was hard and terrible, but forgivable. Go here- it's nice.

A shame! The muffins are dry, stale, heavy and taste a bit like cardboard. We've been coming to Ginny's & Jane E's every year since it opened on our annual beach trip. In the past we've thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and yummy baked goods. However, this year the quality of the baked goods has changed and gone down hill. How sad. This used to be such a great place.

When I discovered this little shop on a visit to AMI five years ago I fell in love! It combined a lovely mix of NYC shabby chic funk with a more traditional island/beachy vibe and pulled it off brilliantly! The eclectic combo of antiques/ flowers/ cafe/ thift store/ gift shop just worked. I've returned to AMI yearly since 2007 and it's been a "must visit" stop each time. This year I was sadly disappointed. Last year, the flowers were gone. That was okay as I found her new shop up the street and didn't think much of it. This year I noticed a few more changes: moved center check out area, larger walkways, less antiques and thrift store finds, more typical touristy gift shop tchotchkes and a slightly different vibe. I couldn't put my finger on it and was thinking maybe it looked so different due to economic factors. Well that may be part of it but I didn't grasp the whole "new owner" feel until I overheard a conversation at the repositioned counter regarding gift certificates. While I will spare you the specifics, it involved a woman (who is clearly one of the new owners) explaining the redemption of gift certificates purchased under previous ownership to a young, fresh faced employee. Rule one of successful retail management-do not discuss employee and store information on the sales floor within earshot of customers. Explaining how certain factors affect your bottom line and your personal income is really not what you want your customers to be overhearing. In fact, may I suggest that you might want to re-think the policy you were outlining and continue to accept Ginny & Jane E's gift certificates regardless of when they were purchased. It will go a long way towards building continued successful customer relations. All that being said, I hope the new owners continue to work towards finding their groove. It's a really neat concept and a nifty place to check out. For folks who didn't have an opportunity to see it before you may not know what your missing. For me, I'll gladly make a return stop and see if I can bump up those stars...

I love Ginny and Jane E's for the shop hodge podge of antiques and furniture. Its a great mix with good finds. I won't make the mistake of getting food there again, the breakfast sandwich I had was so bad I threw it out. Bad probably because they were microwaving the eggs and slapping them on the bagel. The baked goods look appetizing and I've had a good coffee there and honestly you can't beat the setting, its adorable. So check it out and avoid the hot food.

I had a three egg omlet with bacon and cheese, it was actually better than I was expecting. I had heard that it was more of a tourist type of place, but it sure didn't seem that way with the quality of the food. Yes, there are some odd trinkets in the store, but I think that is what makes it a neat spot to check out at least once.

The lines aren't long because it's the only place on the island (it's not); They're long because it's worth the wait. Heads up: to some, the prices may seem to be on the higher side ($15 for a large "Nutty Professor" latte, a large "River Dance" coffee, Morning Glory muffin, and Apricot Scone), but in my opinion based on my experiences, worth it. Not a "tourist trap," either (though they do offer many of the same "touristy" items - albeit at a higher price - that can be found in all of the Island's souvenir and gift shops); The clientele is just as much made up of full-time islanders as it is tourists. The Morning Glory muffin is superb! Best I've had in I can't even think of how long ... *Spoiler Alert: the muffins aren't the "traditional" muffins most people are used to - they are more of a cross between a muffin top and a scone, in that they are shaped like a traditional muffin - and through the glass case even look like one - and they are moist like a muffin top, but they are only as thick as a scone. Believe me, you won't miss the bottom/cup part of a "traditional" muffin; the portion size is the same as one, but just in a different "style". Their other food and pastry offerings are also fresh, generous and delicious - the cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are ginormous! They have a nice variety of fruit smoothies and freshly squeezed juices. Their coffee is great, and the names they assign to the "designer"/flavor combo coffee drinks are cute. Best part, you can have any of the flavor combo coffees as either a regular coffee drink or as a latte, and you can have it hot or iced! The Nutty Professor is a great balance of coconut and hazelnut without either flavor being overpowering. As if that weren't enough, the added bonus is that it's not sugary-sweet, nor does it have an artificial taste/aftertaste like some coffee shops' flavored coffee drinks ... The atmosphere is great! The relaxed setting and mix of private and community tables (no restaurant- or cafe-style matched table and chair sets here!) set in and amongst the whimsical antiques, island crafts, and other tchotchkes available for purchase, truly reflects the general feel and style of the island as a whole. They also have wi-fi (for a nominal fee) if you want to bring your own laptop, iPad/tablet, etc., or use one of their comfortably situated computer stations. Bottom line: Ginny's and Jane E's at the Old IGA is a must-go, and will become an instant favorite!

Love this place. Super cute shop with delicious coffee and goodies. Loved the frappucinos and iced coffee. Delicious muffins and coffee cakes to go along with it. The baristas are very friendly and welcoming.

I love this place! Fresh, still warm bagels, homemade scones and internet access. All the while surrounded by millions of antiques and lost treasures. Great place, I will be back when in Anna Maria again.

I stopped by once while on vacation in the area on the recommendation that they had great cinnamon rolls. Yeah it was good but maybe I'm not an expert on cinnamon rolls because it didn't make me want to go back for more. I looked around the shop and it was all moderately priced but nothing that I just had to have. I would have liked to go back for lunch but I did not get the chance.

The eclectic reviews sum up this place rather well. Lots of Florida beach stuff to look at, some high priced, some bargains, lots of unique items. Sometimes difficult to find a clerk for help or ringing up your purchases. Fun deli in the back, great variety when it opens at 7 a.m., less variety (of pastries) if you come by in the afternoon. I think that's what "fresh" and guestimating for an unknown number of patrons is all about in a small place. I had a delicious everything bagel toasted and with herb cream cheese. Delicious but left me breathing garlic and onions. I had a "muffin top" a six inch crispy cake dough jammed with strawberries and blueberries and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar that was out of this world. It is a coffeehouse feel, with fun places to sit, friendly employees (the reason they aren't at the registers) and the expectation you clean up after yourself. They had coolers with sodas, but even better, fresh juices available. They had 3 computers tho one was broken and charge $2 for thirty minutes. They don't police it and I watched a guy stay there an hour. If you don't set your expectations too high, it's a great place, on Beach Time.

Love this place! Part antique shop, part Internet cafe, part patisserie and completely charming. Go. Have coffee and a morning glory muffin top. Relax.

walking in I was so confused... I didnt know if it was an antique shop, bookstore, internet cafe, or little coffee shop/deli. The food was okay at best.. the decor of the place is very unique. different types of chairs and tables everywhere. the staff is friendly. I say stick to the desserts and pastries. they have a nice selection of muffin tops. and the pecan pie that we tried was on point. the pricing is kind of high for the quality of the food.

This is like a three in one place. Antiques and kitchsy stuff. A cafe in the back that is great, but slow. And the best florist in the world, Sylvia. I was married on Anna Maria, and Sylvia did our flowers. For what I consider to be the most amazing, beautiful, stress-free experience ever, one of the true highlights were the gorgeous flowers. It was a total one-of-a-kind, enjoyable experience working with Sylvia, and so easy to trust all of her decisions. She really helped to make our wedding the best!

Love it. We have rented our beach house for 5 years in a row in great part because it is one block from jeanie and janies. Visit every day!

Great BLT and chocolate cake. The fruit smoothies and apricot scones were okay. The bagels looked homemade and yummy, and we ordered a bagel pizza, but it had been premade and didn't get heated through all the way. But I think for sandwiches they're a lot better.
